Harborne Chiropractic Clinic started using shockwave therapy several years ago when it became apparent that a small percentage of our patients with chronic tendinopathies weren’t responding to other forms of conservative treatment. Shockwave therapy offers another option without the need for invasive injections or surgery. The results have been so good that we have formed Total Shockwave to offer this service independently.

Following a through history and assessment of your injury and if appropriate we will begin the shockwave Therapy treatment. This involves administering thousands of high energy soundwaves to the injury site. Whilst other clinics will use shockwave alone we incorporate other treatment modalities during a treatment session. This includes soft tissue techniques and rehabilitative exercises to help resolve your injury.
We often start by recommending a short course of Shockwave treatments followed by a three week break. After this a reassessment is undertaken and further treatments carried out if necessary. The vast majority of people we see respond well with four treatment sessions.

Typically, a course of 4 is recommended followed by a rest and a reassessment.
